In 2004, Oronce de Beler left Paris to settle in Vosne-Romanée, driven by his passion for Pinot Noir. After completing a viticulture course and gaining hands-on experience, he vinified his first cuvées in 2005. In 2017, La Maison Romane moved to a larger vaulted cellar in Nuits-Saint-Georges, enabling further growth. La Maison Romane embodies a philosophy of respect for terroir: natural winemaking, biodynamics, manual harvesting of whole clusters, and minimal intervention. Grapes are sourced from committed growers in the Côte de Nuits and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and are carefully selected. Oronce’s meticulous work results in red wines made from Pinot Noir and white wines from Chardonnay, produced in small quantities to ensure exceptional quality. The red wines, with aromas of ripe red fruits, showcase the richness of terroirs such as Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, and Gevrey-Chambertin. The white wines, fresh and mineral, are crafted from the region’s finest clay-limestone soils. Unfined and unfiltered, each bottle, sealed with wax, reflects a deep commitment to the purity and authenticity of Burgundy wines.
