The Domaine des Vigneaux is a third-generation family estate located in the southeast of France, in Ardèche, specifically in Valvignères, between Montélimar and Aubenas. Hélène and Christophe Comte manage the 13 hectares of vineyards, where they grow white grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Viognier, and red varieties like Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate has been certified organic since 2001, but has predominantly followed biodynamic practices since 2009. Soil work is limited, with the addition of organic matter and the use of plant-based preparations, all while considering lunar influences.This approach helps reduce the use of copper, promotes microbial activity, strengthens the energy of the vines, and stimulates their natural defenses. The goal is to achieve a balanced ecosystem and let each cuvée reflect the unique terroir. Hélène and Christophe vinify their wines with minimal intervention, without any additives or sulfites. The wines are bottled without fining or filtration, sometimes with a small amount of sulfite added at the final stage for certain cuvées. Their wines are always fine, fresh, and fruity.
