Les Jardiniers Vignerons is first and foremost a meeting between two vine lovers with very distinct backgrounds: Benjamin Lopez and Renaud Buret. Benjamin studied geology and then returned home in 2016, where he began an apprenticeship with Bruno Clavelier. He also did some winemaking with Marc Soyard before working as a laborer at Prieuré Roch, the famous Côte de Nuits estate. Renaud, on the other hand, is Bruno Clavelier’s right-hand man at the Vosne Romanée estate. In addition to their respective activities, they wanted to create a trading business to fully express themselves and produce their own wines. Their long-term idea is to be able to acquire vines in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits. They vinify all their cuvées in Reulle-Vergy, without additives and with a homeopathic dose of sulfur only if necessary. The goal is to produce precise wines, which sometimes require a little time in the cellar to fully express themselves and gain balance (in our opinion, most living wines need some time to stabilize in the bottle).
